Appleby Bakery was established in 1983 and at that time was called “The Bread Shop,” supplying baked products, cakes and pastries to customers in and around the Eden Valley market towns of Appleby and Kirkby Stephen. Appleby Bakery now supplies to the public through their two shops, outside catering arm and also to businesses throughout Cumbria, including Center Parcs, Rheged in Penrith, the famous Westmorland Services near Tebay and Cumbrian butchers, Cranstons Food Hall.

With an ever increasing range of cakes, tray-bakes and more, the bakers now work 6 days a week and use only the best ingredients to make the perfect taste experience. With the bakery now well established, owners Jackie Kirkpatrick and Carol Thornton are currently investigating opportunities to take their range of Christmas cakes and puddings to some of the most prestigious food halls in the UK including Selfridges.
