If we were to list all the products that Appleby Bakery produce we would need pages and pages, so to simplify things (and to ensure you don't loose interest!) we have listed a selection of products which are available to purchase in either our two shops, as the buffet board or at catering events.
cakes + tray bakes
The most popular cake by far is Mars Bar Cake, which is made using real Mars Bars by the dozen. The Bakery staff make literally hundreds of squares each week, and there are never any left!
Another popular chocolate based traybake is Tiffen, which has a digestive biscuit base and a thick layer of Belgian chocolate - truly gorgeous.
For those who are not so keen on chocolate (do these people exist?) currant slices, flapjack, lemon shortbread and scones are all very popular, and smartie buns, crispie cakes and butterfly buns are great children's bribes!
As well as producing individual takeaway cakes, we also make packs of cakes to purchase and take home. All are made using the very best ingredients, which are local wherever possible eg free range eggs, local milk and cream.
The wide selection is available to buy at both Appleby and Kirkby Stephen shops and includes Lemon Loaf, Coffee and Walnut Cake, Sticky Ginger Cake, Swiss Roll and Carrot Cake.
pastries + pies
We serve a wide range of pastries and pies which are fresh daily including sausage rolls, meat and potato pasty, cheese and onion pasty and pork pies.
sandwiches
Sandwiches come on white or brown bread, rolls and much more with a wide variety of fillings, including local beef, ham, plus tuna, egg and the ever popular cheese savoury. All fillings and sandwiches are made daily on the premises, so you are ALWAYS guaranteed freshness.
deli
We have just started producing a range of jams and home made chutneys using local fruit which are out of this world. Perfect for sandwiches, salads and much more.
